Trading involves substantial risk of loss

Trading financial instruments of any kind — futures, stocks, options, forex, CFDs, cryptocurrencies, or anything else — carries a substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for every investor. Leveraged instruments such as futures and options amplify this: leverage works against you exactly as powerfully as it works for you, losses can accumulate quickly, and it is possible to lose more than your initial investment. You should never trade with money you cannot afford to lose. If you do not fully understand these risks, do not trade — consult a licensed financial professional first.

Indicators and add-ons are analysis tools

Our indicators and add-ons are software tools that display, organize, or style market information on your NinjaTrader 8 charts. They do not:

• provide buy/sell recommendations or financial advice of any kind;
• predict future price movement — indicators are calculations applied to historical and current market data, and no calculation can know what the market does next;
• create any advisory or fiduciary relationship between you and UsefulIndicators.

A reference level, a colored zone, a session marker, or any other visual our tools draw is information, not instruction. What you do with that information is a decision you alone make and alone are responsible for.

Strategy products are templates, not promises

Some of our products are trading strategies: software that applies a fixed, mechanical set of entry and exit rules. Understand exactly what you are buying:

• A strategy is a starting point, not a finished income stream. You are buying the rules and the code — not a guarantee that those rules will be profitable in your market, on your instrument, in current conditions, or ever.
• Every performance statistic shown for a strategy — profit factor, win rate, drawdown, trade count, or anything else — is backtested and therefore hypothetical, unless explicitly labeled as verified live results. The full hypothetical-performance disclosure below applies to every such number.
• Backtest statistics describe the past, not the future. Market behavior changes, and an edge that existed in historical data can weaken or disappear at any time, without warning.
• Live results will differ from backtests — slippage, commissions, order fills, latency, and data differences all push real results away from simulated ones, usually in the unfavorable direction.
• Test before you trust. Run any strategy in simulation on your own setup and your own data before risking real money. Default parameters are a configuration, not a recommendation.

A strategy executing its mechanical rules is not UsefulIndicators advising you. The decision to run a strategy, on which instrument, with what size, and with what supervision, is yours alone.

Automated trading carries additional risks

Strategies that place orders automatically add a layer of technology risk on top of market risk: platform crashes, data feed drops, internet outages, broker rejections, and software defects can leave positions open, unprotected, or duplicated. Never run an automated strategy unattended until you fully understand how it behaves in failure scenarios, and always know how to flatten your positions manually at your broker if the platform fails.

No performance claims

We make no claim whatsoever that any of our products will make you profitable, improve your trading results, or reduce your losses. Any trader testimonial, example chart, statistic, or product description on this site illustrates what the software does — not what your trading results will be. Past performance, whether real or simulated, is not indicative of future results.

Hypothetical and simulated performance

Performance figures on this site — including all strategy statistics — are backtested, simulated, or otherwise hypothetical unless explicitly labeled as verified live results. Hypothetical performance results have many inherent limitations. No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profits or losses similar to those shown. There are frequently sharp differences between hypothetical results and actual results subsequently achieved by any particular trading program. One of the limitations of hypothetical results is that they are generally prepared with the benefit of hindsight. In addition, hypothetical trading does not involve financial risk — no hypothetical trading record can completely account for the impact of financial risk in actual trading, such as the ability to withstand losses or to adhere to a particular program in spite of losses. These factors can adversely affect actual trading results.

We are a software company, not an adviser

UsefulIndicators sells software. We are not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, commodity trading advisor, or financial planner in any jurisdiction, and nothing we sell or publish is a substitute for advice from a licensed professional who knows your personal financial situation.

Software and data limitations

Our tools run on market data delivered by your data provider through NinjaTrader 8. Data feeds can be delayed, incomplete, or contain errors; sessions, timezones, and contract specifications vary by provider; and software — ours included — can contain defects despite extensive testing. Never base a trading decision solely on what an indicator displays. Verify independently, and assume any displayed value can be wrong at any moment.

You bear full responsibility for your trading

All trading decisions you make while using our products are yours alone. UsefulIndicators, its owner, and anyone involved in producing these tools accept no liability for any trading losses, lost profits, missed opportunities, or any other damages arising from the use of — or inability to use — any product, to the maximum extent permitted by law. Our total liability is limited as set out in the Terms & Licence. If you do not accept this allocation of responsibility, do not use our products.
